The Lincoln brand brings cherished memories to the forefront of my mind. My parents brought home a Lincoln Town car sedan in the mid-eighties as the new “family” car. Although it was a car they kept for many years, I had only rare occasions to be behind the wheel. The most memorable of them was a several week stint one winter when I used the Town car as transportation for the 70-mile commute to college after my car was determined to be beyond repair and I was forced to begin looking for a replacement.
Driving the Town car was akin to piloting a yacht—only on land. The wide, cushy leather seats were large and comfortable enough to nap in and the steering, combined with the suspension package, made for a ride that felt as if you were gently drifting across a calm sea. Read the rest of this entry »
