On passing a motor show in Detroit in 2011 it was announced that co-operation of the North American division Saab Cars North America with the Swiss tuning company Hirsch Performance AG, working on finalizing the Saab cars.

Previously, the tuner offers its services only in Europe, and now they can benefit buyers from the United States. The key point, which is celebrated in the press release, is to maintain a full warranty of the cars that have been fine-tuning specialists from Hirsch Performance.

Among the improvements include an increase in power 2, 0 and 2, 8-liter engine by 30 hp Models Saab 9-3 and 9-5. Also, customers can order a sports exhaust system, one of two proprietary set of wheels, stiffer springs and a small aerodynamic package, which includes a different grille, carbon fiber front splitter and rear diffuser.

Also tuners from Hirsch Performance willing to make a few strokes in the interior of the Saab, from aluminum pedals and carbon fiber dash trim – leather upholstery to the seats. The cost of these improvements is being cleared.

photo1My introduction to the Saab 9-3 Viggen came at the ungodly hour of 3:30 a.m. My husband and I were headed from downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado to the Pikes Peak Toll Road. It’s a short, but great ride in that it offers a nice selection of roads (city streets, highway and a twisting mountain road that climbs to over 14,000 feet). Armed with coffee, a road map and the qualifying order for the cars, we headed down to the hotel parking garage.

Saab had brought a small group of journalists to Colorado to cover the 78th Pikes Peak Hill Climb, where Saab rally race driver Per Eklund was competing for the first time. The qualifying portion of the race required us to be in our chosen spectator positions before sunrise.
