The British maker Axon Automotive has developed a new plug-in hybrid vehicle which can run on 100% electric mode for use in city and either using a small gasoline combustion engine for longer distances or bioethanol.

The company announced that its plug-in hybrid car two seater emits less than 50 grams of CO2 per kilometer by combining electric mode with the gasoline.

“In designing lighter car with good aerodynamics is possible to reduce emissions,” said Dr. Steve Cousins, director of Axon Automotive. “With a plug-in hybrid car does not have limitations on autonomy and we can maximize the benefits of electricity without the weight and cost of large batteries.” Read the rest of this entry »
