During the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show, Toyota will introduce a new technology breakthrough in its Hybrid Synergy Drive. This is the new Prius plug-in which, as its name implies, you can hook up to a power source to recharge.
With this breakthrough Toyota seeks to emphasize the electrical side of Synergy Hybrid Drive technology allowing the Prius plug-in function as a conventional electric vehicle and thus can operate only with electric power for short journeys.
The Japanese manufacturer announced it will begin testing in Europe in early 2010 using 150 units of Prius Plug-in Hybrid Concept.

Toyota Auris also submitted to HSD Full Hybrid Concept during the Frankfurt autoshow. This concept represents the first application of this technology “full hybrid” in a mass production car.
